Cheese, yoghurt, sour scream production levels increase in Armenia in 2018
According to data provided by the National Statistics Service (NSS), 21, 248.7 tons of cheese were produced in Armenia in 2018 which is 11% more compared to the previous year. The production levels of yogurt amounted for 7, 585.2 tons, recording 21% increase against the previous year data.
For the indicated period the production levels of sour cream and curd cheese increased by 4.2% and 66.1% respectively, amounting to 5,120.7 tones of sour cream and 1, 435.2 tones of curd cheese produced in 2018.
Meanwhile, NSS data indicate 7,9% decrease of milk production levels in Armenia for the mentioned period. According to the source, 425.3 million litres of milk were produced in 2018, while the production levels of the past year put the number at 461.8million litres.
