Armenian airports see 11.6% growth in passenger flow in February
Armenia’s two airports saw a strong increase in passenger numbers in February 2019 against the same month of 2018.
Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in the second largest city of Gyumri handled 166,451 passengers last month, up by 11.6% from February 2018, Armenia International Airports told Panorama.am.
In February, the passenger traffic through Zvartnots Airport accounted for 156,452 people – an increase of 12.4% over last February when flow stood at 139,216.
Shirak Airport welcomed 9,999 passengers last month, securing a 0.6% rise against February 2018 when passenger traffic comprised 9,941 people.
Since the beginning of the year passenger flow at the two airports of Armenia has reached 378,622 people, marking a 11.9% increase from the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in January-February 2019 the total number of flights and landings in both airports also recorded a rise of 10.6% compared to the numbers of 2018.
