Armenia's consumer prices up 0.6% in February
Armenia saw an 0.6% increase in consumer prices in February against January this year, with the growth mainly prompted by a 1.7% rise in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, according to the latest figures unveiled by the country's Statistical Committee.
The statistics show that for the indicated period food prices (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco), increased by 1.6%, while prices for services and non-food products fell by 0.4% and 0.1%, respectively.
Consumer prices also rose by 1.9% in February 2019 from the same month of 2018, with food prices (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco) growing by 3.5%, non-food prices – by 0.6% and service prices – 0.4%.
All the Armenian cities under study saw a 0.1-1.3% rise in consumer prices last month from the previous month, with the highest prices recorded in the town of Ijevan. Yerevan reported a 0.7% consumer price growth in February.
