Number of ministries cuts down in Armenia as government approves new structure
The Armenian government approved a draft law proposing amendments to its structure at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
According to the bill, the government will be composed of the prime minister, two deputy prime ministers and ministers, with the first deputy PM’s post to be cut down.
The number of ministries will also be lowered from 17 to 12 in the country, with the government set to function with the following ministries: the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs; Ministry of Health; Justice Ministry; Ministry of Emergency Situations; Foreign Ministry; Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport; Nature Ministry; Defense Ministry; Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure; Ministry of High Technologies and Industry; Ministry of Economy and Finance Ministry.
According to the draft law, the Diaspora Ministry will be reorganized as Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs under the PM’s staff.
