Fruit, vegetable prices up 5.3% in Armenia in February
Armenia saw a 1.7% rise in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices in February against January 2019, directly influenced by 1.7% and 7.4% increases in fruit and vegetable prices, respectively, according to the latest figures unveiled by the country's Statistical Committee.
The statistics show that vegetable prices grew by 5.6% last month from a year earlier and by 7.4% from the previous month.
In total, fruit and vegetable price rise stood at 5.3% in February from January this year, contributing to an 0.5% increase in overall consumer prices.
Meantime, prices for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products increased by 0.4% in February against January, while sugar and non-alcoholic beverage prices remained unchanged from a year ago.
