Petrol prices drop in Armenia by 9.6% in one year
February 2019 saw 0.4% deflation in the non-food product market of Armenia to compare with January 2019. According to the newly released data of the National Statistical Service (NSS), deflation is observed for shoes and clothes, respectively by 1.7% and 5.3% to compare with data of February 2018, 1.9% and 2.3% respectively against the January data of the same year.
Meanwhile, in the above-mentioned period the price of furniture and home electronic appliances rose by 0.8% and 1.5%. respectively. The prices of carpets and construction materials increased by 0.1%, the costs of medication and stationery rose by 0.9%.
According to the source, in February 20189 Armenia recorded 0.5% deflation in the petrol price to compare with January 2019 and 0.4% inflation of diesel to compare with the date of January 2019 The petrol and diesel fuel prices rose by 9.6% and 5.2%, respectively, to compare with February 2018, while 7.1% and 5.3% rise in prices observed to compare with December 2018.
