Alabama becomes the 49th U.S. State to recognize the Armenian Genocide
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has recognized the Armenian Genocide, becoming the 49th US state to properly condemn and mark this crime against humanity, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
“The ANCA of Alabama and Armenians across America and around the world thank the Governor,” the organization wrote on its Facebook account.
After Alabama’s recognition, Mississippi remains the only U.S. state that has not yet officially memorialized and condemned the Armenian Genocide.
