Armenia’s National Gallery to host exhibition of Anatoly Grigoryan’s artworks
An exhibition of Armenian artist Anatoly Grigoryan’s artworks will launch at the National Gallery of Armenia on 28 March, continuing the series of retrospective monographic exhibitions in the museum.
For the first time this comprehensively displayed collection embraces about 70 large-scale paintings and studies, graphic papers and swift drawings of various years, valuable samples of the artist’s letters, photos, as well as personal belongings.
The diversity of genres and aesthetic-perceptive variety and contrast make the basis of the exhibition, the galley said. The event runs for a month through 28 April.
Anatoly Grigoryan (1941-2017) held numerous personal and group exhibitions in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, India, US, Finland, France, Germany and elsewhere.
The artist’s works are housed in museums and galleries in Armenia and abroad (National Gallery of Armenia, State Tretyakov Gallery, State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow) as well as in private collections.
