Evacuation underway from St. Petersburg’s Hermitage Museum
Visitors and staff are being evacuated from the State Hermitage Museum in Russia’s St. Petersburg, the museum’s press service told TASS on Friday.
"It has been announced on loudspeakers that everyone must leave the building," the press service said. The Hermitage wrote on VKontakte that a bomb threat had been received.
An evacuation took place at the Hermitage on Thursday following an anonymous bomb call that turned out to be hoax.
St. Petersburg’s emergency services have been receiving bomb threats since mid-February, the source reminded. Evacuations took place at dozens of schools and higher education facilities across the city, as well as at numerous shopping malls. However, all bomb threats proved to be fake.
