Some roads closed, difficult to pass in Armenia
Some highways are closed or hardly passable in the territory of Armenia as of 10am Monday, March 25, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a daily road condition update.
Vardenyats Pass is shut down for trailer trucks and difficult to pass for other types of vehicles.
The Spitak and Stepanavan curved roads, Lanjik section of Yerevan-Gyumri highway, intercommunity roads of Ashotsk and Amasia regions and Sotk-Karvachar highway are hardly passable.
The intercommunity roads of Aparan and Aragats regions, Spitak-Gyumri and Talin-Lanjik-Mastara highways are partly ice-covered.
Snowfalls reportedly hit the towns of Goris and Kajaran, as well as the Meghri Sar section.
The ministry urges drivers to use winter tires.
According to the Georgian authorities, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for all types of vehicles.
The General Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia reports 179 vehicles stuck on the Russian side.
