ECHR postpones hearing on Manvel Grigoryan’s request for interim measure
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has postponed the hearing on application of an interim measure in the case of retired Armenian army general and former Republican MP Manvel Grigoryan currently held in pre-trial custody, the official website of the Armenian Government Representation before the ECHR said on Monday.
According to the source, Armenia was notified through a communiqué from the ECHR that on March 12 Manvel Grigoryan’s attorney requested the European court to apply a provisional measure under Article 39, obliging the Armenian government to immediately transfer Grigoryan to a civilian hospital under supervision of relevant doctors, as well as to immediately transfer him to a medical facility in France mentioned by him for further examination and treatment.
The ECHR postponed the hearing on the issue on 22 March, demanding the Armenian government to provide relevant information by 3 April.
Armenia’s representative at the ECHR is taking relevant measures to collect the mentioned information, to develop the country’s position and to submit it to the European Court within the set timeframes, the source said.
