Artsakh soldier arrested in death of fellow serviceman
A soldier of the Artsakh Armed Forces has been arrested on suspicion of killing a fellow serviceman and wounding another on Tuesday, part of the criminal case opened by Armenia’s Investigative Committee.
Junior Sergeant Ara Arakelyan suffered fatal gunshot wounds, while Junior Sergeant Andranik Koshkanyan was wounded in the left wrist at around 6:30pm in a north-eastern military unit.
A probe is underway, the committee said, adding all the necessary investigative and procedural measures are being taken to ensure a thorough, complete and objective investigation into the fatal incident.
No other details were immediately clear.
