Artsakh families with four children up by 25%
“Tashir” charitable foundation allocated $4,000 dollars to every fourth child born to 201 families in Artsakh throughout 2018, Artsakhpress news agency reported. The solemn ceremony of the handing the awards took place on Wednesday in capital Stepanakert.
Artsakh minister of social affairs and resettlement Samvel Avanesyan told the news agency that before the launch of the programme in 2015 only 150 fourth child births were recorded in the country, while the number gradually increased over the years reaching 201 in 2018.
Artsakh State Minister Grigory Martirosyan, in turn, noted that since 2016, 443 families have benefited from the program.
Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Haykak Arshamyan, who was present at the event, noted he was proud of the fact that there are many large families in Artsakh.
"It is not so easy to raise 4 children in our conditions. I am confident that each of us with our cherished activities will be able to help and support each other to solve all the problems and raise healthy children for our homeland," said Arshamyan.
To remind, the event was attaneded also by Artsakh president Bako Sahakyan who stressed the importance of this initiative being carried out for years in terms of improving social standing of young families in Artsakh and backing up large families.
Bako Sahakyan expressed gratitude to Samvel Karapetyan for translating the initiative into life and special attitude towards Artsakh.
