Pashinyan says will discuss Artsakh’s involvement in peace talks at upcoming meeting with Aliyev
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will exchange views on the involvement of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in the negotiations at the upcoming meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev scheduled for March 29 in Vienna.
“Yes, of course,” he said, commenting on Prosperous Armenia Party MP Naira Zohrabyan’s question whether the meeting will address, among other things, Artsakh’s participation in the peace talks.
Reiterating his position that such meetings should have no specific agenda at least in the initial phase, the Armenian PM said the Vienna meeting with the Azerbaijani president must address a broad range of issues.
The PM stressed the talks are expected to take place within the framework of the earlier statements. “What I have announced during the joint Security Council session in Stepanakert is essentially the agenda which we [Armenia] will be following at the negotiations and is, in fact, the platform which we will rely on throughout the future negotiation process,” Pashinyan said.
