Remarque’s “A Time to Love and a Time to Die” published in Armenian
“A Time to Love and a Time to Die”, a novel by world famous German author Erich Maria Remarque has been translated from German into Armenian for the first time and published by Edit Print Publishing House.
Translated by Vanuhi Baghmanyan, the presentation of the book is scheduled for March 29 at Bookinist bookstore on 20 Mashtots Avenue, the publishing house said.
"A Time to Live and a Time to Die" is one of the famous anti-war works of Remarque. “World War II. German troops in Russia. Whispers about retreat. War on front, war at homes, war in hearts and minds, and what is the most important - Love, which will be an anchor that will bring the soldier home. The thoughts of German soldier Ernst Greber are serious psychological challenge to the absurdism of time, to the repetition of history,” reads the book description.
Edit Print has so far published three Armenian versions of the German novelist’s masterpieces – “Three Comrades”, “Arch of Triumph” and “All Quiet on the Western Front”. More publications of the famed author’s novels will follow, the house said.
