Armenia’s defense minister, Kansas governor discuss military cooperation
Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan departed for the U.S. on March 26 to attend the UN Peacekeeping Defense Ministerial Conference.
On the next day, Tonoyan held a meeting with Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, the Defense Ministry told Panorama.am.
During the meeting, Commander of Kansas Army National Guard, Major General Lee Tafanelli briefed Governor Kelly on the main directions of military cooperation between the Armenian Defense Ministry and Kansas and the ongoing projects.
Tonoyan thanked Kelly for the efficient cooperation with the Kansas Army National Guard. The two also discussed prospects for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Armenian defense chief handed the Kansas governor historical documents on the U.S. humanitarian efforts of the last century related to Armenia and Armenian people.
Goveror Kelly, for her part, said that March 27 has been declared the day of cooperation between Armenia and Kansas, handing Tonoyan the respective proclamation.
