Armenian president offers condolences to Kazakh counterpart over fatal copter crash
President Armen Sarkissian of Armenia on Friday sent a message of condolences to President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev on the March 27 crash of a Mi-8 military helicopter in the Zhalagash region in southern Kazakhstan, which killed all 13 people on board.
In his message, the Armenian president expressed his sympathy and solidarity with the families and friends of the victims.
The Mi-8 helicopter was part of a group of aircraft flying from Aktau on the Caspian Sea to Shymkent near the border with Uzbekistan, RFE/RL reported, citing the county's Defense Ministry.
Tokayev said he has ordered an official probe into the reasons for the crash.
