Some roads closed, difficult to pass in Armenia
Some highways are closed or hardly passable in the territory of Armenia as of 10am Monday, April 1, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a daily road condition update.
Vardenyats Pass and the Dilijan serpentine are shut down for trailer trucks. Vardenyats Pass, Sotk-Karvachar, Vanadzor-Dilijan, Alagyaz-Charchakis, Alagyaz-Melikgyugh are difficult to pass.
Saravan-Zanger and Kapan-Goris highways are ice-covered.
Snowfalls hit the towns of Spitak, Vanadzor, Noyemberyan, Dilijan, Berd, Hrazdan, Charentsavan, Abovyan and Aparan.
The ministry urges drives to use snow tyres.
According to the Roads Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
