Today marks famous Armenian actor Khoren Abrahamyan’s birthday
April 1 marks the birthday anniversary of renowned Soviet Armenian actor and director Khoren Abrahamyan. He would turn 89 today.
Khoren Abrahamyan was born on April 1, 1930 in Yerevan. He graduated from the Yerevan Institute of Theater and Fine Arts in 1951. Since then, he worked as an actor, later - director and the executive director at Sundukyan State Academic Theatre of Yerevan.
He also served as the artistic director of the Ajemyan Drama Theatre of Leninakan (now Gyumri).
His most popular on-screen roles were the ones played in the movies Saroyan Brothers, We and Our Mountains, The Chronicle of Yerevan Days, Hope Star, Live Long etc.
The actor died on December 10, 2004 at the age of 74. He is buried at the Komitas Pantheon in capital Yerevan.
