Yerevan court to hear Kocharyan’s appeal on April 4
The Yerevan Criminal Court of Appeals, under presiding judge Mnatsakan Harutyunyan, is set to hear the appeal of second President Robert Kocharyan against the ruling of a lower court on April 4, at 12pm, his attorneys said.
The hearing will be held by Criminal Court of Appeals under the presiding judge Ruzanna Barseghyan.
To remind, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided by judge Armen Bektashyan, issued on March 15 a ruling on extension of second President Robert Kocharyan’s pre-trial arrest sought by the Special Investigative Service (SIS).
Kocharyan has been placed in custody since December 7, 2018, pending trial. He is charged with overthrowing Armenia’s constitutional order during the March 1-2, 2008 post-election events in Yerevan, but strongly denies any wrongdoing.
