Lusik Aguletsi museum-house to open its doors for visitors

The house, where famous Armenian painter and ethnographer, Honored Worker of Culture of Armenia Lusik Aguletsi lived, will turn into a museum. The initiative comes true by the family members of the painter with support of “Aguletsi” Foundation. The ethnographer’s official Facebook page reports, the museum will open its doors for visitors with all hospitality and warmth as Aguletsi would have done.

“Although the interior has been changed a little, the one thing remained unchanged - the warmth of the home setting kept by Aguletsi every visitor will feel,” the welcome message of the page reads.

It is noted that the museum will have an art café next to it to offer all the richness and the variety of the Armenian cuisine to visitors.

To remind, Lusik Aguletsi passed away last year at the age of 72. She collected weapons, costumes, decorations, and ancient jars for years. Some of them were brought from her native Agulis and the rest from different corners of Western and Eastern Armenia. Lusik Aguletsi is also well-known due to her quite unusual appearance. The national costumes that she wore for a few decades has been an element of her routine. She is the author of the richly illustrated compendium of Armenian creative works, entitled “Vestiges of the Past.”
