Public confidence in State Revenue Committee on the rise, PM says
PM Nikol Pashinyan toured today the SRC units, first calling at the Ararat regional customs office, where the customs clearance of imported vehicles is being performed then attending a customs clearance process, which lasted 20 minutes. “We fixed the deadline of 20 minutes with the customs officers and decided that a single vehicle should be cleared in 20 minutes,” Pashinyan said, as quoted by the government press service.
Talking to the citizens involved in the customs clearance process, Pashinyan asked them about the problems faced during the customs clearance process. Some citizens complained of delays in the provision of car license plates. Nikol Pashinyan contacted Police Chief Valeri Osipyan, who said that the problem was due to the increased number of vehicles imported in recent years. “The number of imports has sharply increased. A new batch of plates will reach the country today,” the Prime Minister said.
Nikol Pashinyan next visited the taxpayers’ service hall at 35 Komitas Street, where he got acquainted with the activities of the unit responsible for analysis. The Premier was in the auditorium of the SRC Training Center, where regular trainings and exams are being held. The Head of Government watched the staff’s training process.
Addressing the SRC staff, the Prime Minister noted: “Needless to say how much important the State Revenue Committee is in terms of implementation of our programs and the country’s development. It is crucial for us to find the most accurate, balanced and convenient indicator for Government-SRC-Society cooperation. I want to thank you for the work you have done over the past 10 months. I wish to thank you for living up to the tasks set before you, which makes us optimistic about the future.
Pashinyan added that the SRC’s performance is largely conditioned by the overall status of the economy, but curbing the black turnover is of paramount importance as it instills confidence in the work of government agencies. “I can see that the public’s attitude towards the SRC is changing, the level of confidence is on the rise, and I want this trend to be continued,” said the Prime Minister.
