Armenian weightlifters conquer gold and bronze at European Championship
Armenian weightlifter Hakob Mkrtchyan, competing in the 89kg weight class, won on Thursday gold at the t European Weightlifting Championship ongoing in Batumi, Georgia. The Armenian athlete registered a total of 371kg (164+207) result. As the National Olympic Committee reports, another Armenian weightlifter Davit Hovhannisyan, competing in the same weight class took the bronze with a total of 360 (165+195)
To recall, Armenian representatives Izabella Yaylyan (59 kg) and Armen Grigoryan (73 kg) have ended their performances. In the snatch Yaylyan won a small silver medal and placed 5th in both exercises and Armen Grigoryan placed 9th.
