Armenian Church celebrates Palm Sunday tomorrow
The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Palm Sunday, the triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, tomorrow, on April 14.
Several years ago, by the order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Palm Sunday was declared as the Blessing of Children Day, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informed Panorama.am.
On the occasion of the feast, a special service of Blessing of Children will be offered at all Armenian Churches, the source said.
Under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, the following services will be offered at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin:
On Palm Sunday, churches are decorated with branches from willow trees and palm trees. Following a solemn morning service, the blessed branches are distributed to the faithful. This passage from the Gospels reminds each of us about the Coming of Christ, and teaches us to live in a manner that can make us worthy to stand before the Lord and exclaim: “Hosanna (Praise God)! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”
