National Assembly votes against judge candidate of the Constitutional Court
Armenian National Assembly voted on Tuesday against the candidacy of Gor Hovhannisyan as judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia. According to the results of the secret vote, 24 MPs voted in favor and 75 against.
To remind, Hovhannisyan’s candidacy had been nominated by President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian. This has been the second time the parliament fails to elect judge forthe vacant post. In October 2018, the National Assembly was unable to elect Vahe Grigoryan as judge due to insufficient number of votes.
