Security agents raid house, office of wanted ex-Armenian official: report
Agents of the National Security Service on Thursday conducted a raid of the house and former office of Mihran Poghosyan, a former MP and chief of the Compulsory Enforcement Service facing corruption charges, his office said in a statement.
The office slammed the move as ‘apparent political persecution’. The statant reminds that the former official unveiled his address of residence immediately after the NSS director’s statement that they are aware of his whereabouts.
The NSS is yet to confirm the report.
The Special Investigative Service (SIS) said on Monday that Poghosyan had abused his official powers and embezzled property in large amounts to enrich himself and companies linked to him.
According to SIS, the actions ascribed to the former official have caused some 44,199,463 drams in damage to the state.
Arrest warrant has been issued for Poghosyan.
