Local elections in 14 communities set on June 9
14 communities of Armenia are set to hold local self-government elections on June 9, Panorama.am learnt from the Central Electoral Commission. According to the source, elections will be held in communities of Shirak, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Ararat, Lori and Aragatsotn provinces.
In eight of the communities the voters will elect the head of community and the Council of Elders in seven communities. City mayor will be elected in Abovyan town and village mayors in Getargel. Ghorsal, Geghahovit, Tsovasar, Anushavan, Spandaryan.
The deadline for nominating candidates is May 10-15. The pre-election campaign will start on 22 May to end on June 7.
