Armenian parliament unanimously adopts bill to support March 1 victims
The Armenian National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted in the first reading a bill on providing assistance to the victims of the March 1-2, 2008 post-election events in capital Yerevan.
A total of 117 lawmakers voted in favour of the bill drafted by Deputy Speakers Alen Simonyan and Lena Nazaryan.
The new measure proposes to render help to the successors of those citizens who died in the post-election clashes, as well as those who suffered serious or moderate injuries during the events.
The government is set to decide on the type of assistance to be provided to the affected citizens.
