Moscow church hosts candlelight vigil in honor of Armenian Genocide victims
A wreath and flower-laying ceremony took place on Wednesday at the memorial to the Armenian Genocide victims in the Armenian church complex of Moscow, Russia to pay homage to the 1.5 million martyrs of the 1915 tragedy, the Armenian Defense Ministry reports.
In attendance of the commemoration were Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, who is in Moscow on a working visit, Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toghanyan, Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan, Primate of the Russia and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, leaders of Armenian community structures, the embassy staff and numerous other Moscow Armenians.
The Armenian defense chef and ambassador, accompanied by His Grace Yezras Nersisyan, next took part in a candlelight vigil offered at the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral of the church complex in honor of the Armenian Genocide victims.
