Armenian athletes secure three gold medals at freestyle wrestling tournament in Vitebsk
Armenian freestyle wrestlers have won three gold medals at the international freestyle wrestling Tournament held from April 23-25 in Vitebsk, Belarus.
As the National Olympic Committee (ANOC) reported, our team was represented by six wrestlers. Gold medals were conquered by Harutyun Manukyan (57kg), Hrayr Alikhanyan (74kg) and Hovhannes Maghakyan (125kg).
Meanwhile, Mher Markosyan competing in the 86kg weight class grabbed silver, whilst Arman Andreasyan and Kolya Harutyunyan (both 96kg) - bronze medals.
the head coach of Armenia's freestyle wrestling youth team, Avetik Vardanyan told the ANOC press service the overall performance of the Armenian team was satisfactory. On April 25 the team will return to Yerevan and leave for Vladikavkaz on May 4 for a training camp ahead of the European Championships.
