Investments are not at the desired level, minister says
Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan is concerned with the level of investments. At a briefing with reporters on Friday, the minister reminded that the volume of investments is equally conditioned with the favorable business environment to attract foreign investors as well as the behavior of Armenian citizens.
“To what extent we - as a public - are ready to make savings and use them as investments? We should work in all directions to achieve results in some 4.5 years,” the ministers said. Khachatryan noted the level of investments in the Armenian economy is not at the desired level which he called concerning, adding, however, the Cabinet is undertaking best efforts to increase the investments.
“We have a long and hard way ahead, while we work and believe our efforts will yield results. Those results are the ones outlined in the government programme,” concluded the minister.
