Armenia's consumer prices down 0.1% in April
Armenia saw a 0.1% decline in consumer prices in April against March this year, with the decrease mainly prompted by a 0.7% fall in food and soft drink prices, according to the latest figures unveiled by the country's Statistical Committee.
The statistics show that for the indicated period prices for services and non-food products grew by 0.8% and 0.2%, respectively.
Meantime, consumer prices rose by 2.2% in April 2019 from the same month of 2018, with food prices (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco) growing by 3.9%, non-food prices – by 1.4% and service prices – 0.1%.
The six Armenian cities under study saw a 0.5-0.1% price cut in consumer prices last month from the previous month, three saw a price rise of 0.1-1.1%, while consumer prices remained unchanged in two cities. Consumer prices dropped by 0.1% in capital Yerevan in April.
