Protesters threw empty wallets into the government building entrance
A protest action against the amendments into the tax legislation held on Friday in front of the government building. The protesters called on the Government to recall the draft legislation from the National Assembly and review some of the amendments such as the proposed application of the principle of the income tax equalization.
“The suggested amendments will lead to social polarization as the rich will get richer and the poor get poorer,” one of the participants told reporters.
The protesters held posters reading “No to social injustice” and “No to income equalization.” They handed on a letter to the Government representative that outlined their demands.
Apart from the letter, some of the protesters threw empty wallets into the building entrance, asking to hand on those to the Prime Minister, alleging Pashinyan “ has broken away from reality and now has little understanding about the state of affairs in a typical Armenian family.”
