Trump tweets well wishes to Jimmy Carter after hip surgery
U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday wished former President Jimmy Carter a speedy recovery after the Georgia Democrat had to undergo surgery for a broken hip earlier in the day, New York Post reports.
Trump sent the well wishes on Twitter Monday afternoon — hours after Carter fell at his Plains, Georgia, home and had to have the surgery.
“Wishing former President Jimmy Carter a speedy recovery from his hip surgery earlier today. He was in such good spirits when we spoke last month – he will be fine!” Trump wrote.
In a statement after the surgery, the Carter Center said the former president was recovering well from the procedure at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
