Museum Night: Entrance to more than100 Armenian and Artsakh museums free of charge on May 18
The Museum Night event will be held in Armenia today on May 18. The event is organized by the International Council of Museum (ICOM) within the International Museum Day celebrations.
Museum Night is an annual cultural event when museums and cultural institutions stay open late into the night and the entrance is free. Visitors are given an entrance pass, which gives an opportunity to enter any museum, which takes part in museum night event.
Organized every year since 1977, the events and activities planned to celebrate International Museum Day can last a day, a weekend or a whole week. The objective of International Museum Day is to raise awareness of the fact that, “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.”
Within the scope of “Museum Night” program around 100 museum of Armenia and Artsakh will be open till midnight and will organize a number of cultural actions. Yerevan metropolitan will operate until 01:00.
