Armenian parliament to hold debate on court blockade
The Armenian National Assembly will hold a debate on the blockade of the country’s courts urged by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a special session on Wednesday, head of the opposition Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan said in a Facebook post.
“As we have already announced, the Bright Armenia faction has initiated an emergency session of the parliament to discuss yesterday’s developments.
"18 lawmakers from the Prosperous Armenia faction have also joined the initiative,” the MP said.
He added according to a prior agreement reached with the ruling My Step faction, the session will start at 11am.
Bright Armenia, as well as the other opposition forces have denounced the blockade of courts across Armenia on Monday as ‘unconstitutional’.
