Armenian cyclist Edgar Stepanyan to take part in qualifying tournaments in Russia
Armenian cyclist Edgar Stepanyan who has been holding a training camp in Olympavan these days will take part in three qualifying Grand Prix in different cities of Russia.
From May 27 to 30, Stepanyan will join the Grand Prix in Tula where will compete in team pursuit and omnium, the National Olympic Committee reports.
The Armenian athlete will perform in the same events also in the Grand Prix in Moscow on June 1-3.
The series of the tournaments will end up in St. Petersburg where the cyclist will join the team pursuit and omnium events from June 5 to 7.
The points gained in the team pursuit will ensure qualification for the World Cup, while the points in omnium will be qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
