Arsenal players will not be able to show any sign of support for Henrikh Mkhitaryan before the Europa League final thanks to UEFA’s rules, onefootball.com reported.

According to the source, the players had, apparently, considered wearing shirts with the player’s name on the back as they warmed up before the game but UEFA have confirmed to the Daily Mail that such a move is prohibited by ‘strict rules’.

All kits, including t-shirts worn before or after the game, must be approved by the Stasi UEFA.

“While UEFA have rules in place to stop football being politicised, it is exactly that. Arsenal have a player not able to feature in this match because of international politics while Arsenal fans with Armenian heritage have been stopped from going to the game and disabled supporters have all but abandoned any attempts to travel to Azerbaijan,” the paper writes.
