Tablet production cut down by 35.7%, phone production stopped in Armenia
According to the data released by Armenia’s National Statistical Service (NSS), in January-March 2019, 144 units of tables were produced in Armenia, cutting down by 35.7% to compare with the same period of 2018. To note, in January-March 2018, 224 units of tables were produced in Armenia.
As to mobile phones, the statistics say no devices were produced in 2018. To note, the first Armenian Armphone smartphones have gone on sale since January 2016. Prior to that, Armenia did not produce mobile phones. In 2017 1430 phones where produced in the country15% less than in 2016.
The production of ArmTab tablets, ArmPhone smartphones, as well as development of scientific and research programs are carried out by Armenian company Technology and Science Dynamics Inc./Armtab Technologies.
