Armenian police chief: We are always ready for vetting
Chief of the Armenian Police Valeriy Osipyan does not oppose a possible decision to subject police officers to vetting, he told reporters at the Sardarapat Memorial, where he joined several other top officials in the Republic Day celebrations.
His comments came in response to a reporter’s question about whether he has any concerns over a possible vetting within his structure.
“We are always ready,” Osipyan said.
Asked to comment on the recent blockade of courts across Armenia urged by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the police chief described the move as ‘urgent assembly”, adding he cannot and is not authorized to give any assessment to the PM’s actions.
