PM’s spox refutes media allegations on Armenian leader’s Kazakhstan visit
Vladimir Karapetyan, the spokesman for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, dismissed as a ‘result of sick imagination’ media reports alleging the PM’s participation in an official dinner for the heads of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) members states in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan has been cancelled.
Speaking to Panorama.am, he stressed the Armenian leader has carried out all the scheduled activities successfully, including chairing the session of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, signing documents and reaching agreements, holding a joint news conference and attending the official dinner.
“The visit is quite successful,” the spokesman said, adding at the moment a meeting of the PM and Armenian businessmen is underway in Kazakhstan.
“Possibilities for various investment projects in Armenia are being discussed,” he said.
Earlier some media reports suggested Pashinyan plans to cancel his working visit to Kazakhstan and return to Armenia. According to the reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin turned down a meeting with the Armenian PM. Moreover, first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has presented orders to all the EAEU leaders, except Pashinyan.
Karapetyan explained no meeting was planned between the Armenian PM and Russian president.
