Yerevan minibus driver dismissed after altercation with passenger
A driver of a minibus serving route 46 in the Armenian capital of Yerevan has been fired following an altercation with a passenger.
A Facebook video posted by Armenian citizen Ani Khachatryan on Monday shows the driver yelling at her and demanding her to ger off the vehicle after the latter demands him to stop smoking and to observe traffic rules.
A representative of the company operating the route was summoned to the Yerevan Municipality over the incident on Tuesday. As a result of discussions, a decision has been made to dismiss the offending driver, the municipality said in a statement.
The Yerevan Municipality also added the passenger carrier representatives have been advised to get public transport drivers to ‘strictly’ adhere to the code of conduct with passengers and the traffic rules.
