Tourist arrivals up 5.2% in Armenia in three months
Armenia saw a growth in tourist arrivals in the first three months of the ongoing year, according to the figures released by the National Statistical Service.
The country welcomed a total of 364, 489 tourists from January to March 2019, up by 5.2% from the same period last year when the total number of tourists amounted for 34, 458 arrivals.
Meantime, around 317, 891 people left Armenia for tourism purposes over the first three months in 2019, showing an increase of 5.7% from the reporting period in 2018.
The NSS data show that the number of tourists hosted by hotel industry of the Republic of Armenia for January-March 2019 comprised 158,672 people (residents of the Republic of Armenia), which is 41.8% increase compared to the same period of 2018.
