Abkhaz footballers describe Artsakh as 'beautiful, clean and hospitable'
The football team of Abkhazia returned home on Tuesday morning after taking the bronze medal at the 2019 CONIFA (Confederation of Independent Football Associations) European Football Cup held in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) from 1 to 10 June.
Speaking to Sputnik Abkhazia, defender Astamur Tsishba described Stepanakert, the Artsakh capital that hosted the tournament, as a beautiful and clean town.
Prior to the launch of the CONIFA European Football Cup, the Abkhaz footballers toured Artsakh and organized a picnic. Another Abkhaz footballer praised the Artsakh people’s hospitability.
The player also said the most difficult match during the tournament was the clash with Western Armenia.
A total of 8 football teams competed at the European Football Cup.
