Norway Chess: Armenia’s Aronian draws with Yu Yangyi in seventh round
Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian drew both classical and Armageddon games with Yu Yangyi of China in round 7 of the 2019 Altibox Norway Chess Tournament played on Wednesday.
After seven rounds, the Armenian chess star has picked up 8 points and holds the second place. Norwegian world champion Magnus Carlsen continues to lead the table with 11 points, Panorama.am learned from the official website of the tournament.
Aronian is set to face American GM Fabiano Caruana in the eighth round scheduled for Thursday. The tournament consists of nine rounds.
