Honored Artist of Armenia, ballet master Nadezhda Davtyan dies aged 67
Honored Artist of RA, ballet dancer Nadezhda Davtyan dies aged 67, press service at the ministry of culture reported on Monday. The ministry expressed condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, culture admirers of Nadezhda Davtyan.
To note, for decades, Nadezhda Davtyan performed at her home country and well represented Armenia on the prestigious world stages, and in the recent years transmitted her professional knowledge and experience to young artists, thus greatly contributing to the development of ballet in our country. N. Davtyan was the first performer of the main role in the ballet “Gayane” staged at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan in 1974.
In 2016, by the decree of the minister of culture Nadezhda Davtyan was awarded the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Culture for significant contribution in the field of ballet and long-term creative activity.
