Armenian parliament adopts 2018 state budget execution report
The Armenian National Assembly passed the annual report on the execution of the 2018 state budget in a vote of 94 for and 17 against at Thursday’s regular session.
In a speech ahead of the vote, MP Gevorg Petrosyan of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction called lawmakers’ attention to the pressing social issues, including the increased prices, persisting emigration trends and high unemployment rates in the country.
“It’s absolutely groundless to vote in favor of the budget execution under the existing conditions,” he said.
Meanwhile, ruling My Step lawmaker Babken Tunyan stated that both Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia, another opposition faction in the parliament, had their share in the implementation of the document and their negative vote would also reflect an assessment of their own work.
