Opera star Veronika Dzhioeva feels herself a bit Armenian
World famous opera singer Veronika Dzhioeva will perform a concert in Armenia for the first time. The concert with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (ANPO) will take place on June 24 at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.
As the Opera singer told reporters at a press conference, the concert to be held under the baton of by maestro Eduard Topchjan will feature beloved songs.
“We will have a great concert. It will feature also a young talented Armenian Bas Sergey Stepanyan. I hope the audience will be pleased and happy,” the opera star said.
The concert programme includes famous arias from Mozart, Puchini, Verdi operas.
The opera singer noted that she had a long record of working with Armenian musicians and have many friends who are talented. “I bow to the talent and history of the Armenian people,” Dzhioeva said. The ANPO press service reports that in a recent meeting with music lovers the opera star admitted that she felt herself a bit Armenia as she is often confused with Armenians.
To add, Dzhioeva has taken the stage in the world’s best opera theaters and concert halls. The soprano cooperates with such famous conductors as Mariss Jansons, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Teodor Currentzis, Ingo Metzmacher, Marco Carminati and others.
