The Armenian citizen detained in Georgia to remain in custody
A citizen of Armenia identified as Minas Minasyan is among the detainees in the clashes of the Georgian capital Tbilisi on June 21. As the Armenian Embassy reports, Minasyan, born in 1995, studies in Tbilisi and comes from Armavir town of Armenia.
The court on Friday ruled to keep him in custody for 13 days. According to the source, the Embassy is in contact with Georgian law enforcement, and the Armenian diplomats are set to meet with him soon.
According to latest data, 240 people, including 80 police officers were injured, as police dispersed protesters through massive use of tear gas and rubber bullets during the demonstration outside the Georgian parliament on Thursday, while a total of 305 protesters were detained for various criminal offenses.
