Armenians rally outside Russian embassy in support of Khachaturyan sisters
A group of Armenian citizens held today a rally outside the Russian Embassy in Armenia to voice support to the Khachaturyan sisters charged with killing their father in July last year.
The participants of the campaign demand the Russian authorities to release the sisters from custody.
Earlier last week, citizens picketed outside the headquarters of the Russian Investigative Committee to support the sisters, holding a poster that read, “We all are Khachaturyan sisters.”
The three sisters, Kristina, Angelina and Maria, claim they were repeatedly tortured, sexually abused and raped by their father. They are facing up to 20 years in prison if found guilty.
